JOVEN. LAT
A free, interactive digital platform to find and offer jobs, as well as opportunities to learn, create businesses and prosper.
WHY THIS PROGRAM?
Description
JOVEN.LAT is a web portal that offers free public or private training opportunities, as well as jobs for young people aged 10 to 39 from 19 Latin American countries.
This program was launched in 2017. It is currently in an advanced beta phase. It was developed and maintained by its initiator and director, the late Carlos Montero (Montevideo). The portal is hosted in Paraguay. The Foundation is committed to guaranteeing its maintenance and development.
Objectives
JOVEN.LAT aims to initiate a 'resonant' digital ecosystem (between offers and requests) of opportunities for vulnerable 10-39 year olds in Latin America.
Activities
JOVEN.LAT has identified, organized and published over 5,600 platforms offering almost half a million job and learning opportunities throughout Latin America.
Traffic generation has been ensured through numerous communication channels (local radio and television, social networks).
A crowdsourcing system now enables organizations and users to feed JOVEN.LAT with their own opportunities.
Budget
To date, Ganydar has invested around CHF 200k in setting up the platform. For the year 2025, a budget of CHF 10k is available to maintain the relevance of the database links. Additional donations would enable the platform to be transformed into a mobile application. Estimate: from CHF 50k.
Human resources
The program is looking for volunteers to carry out the ongoing work of updating links on the platform.
