EMPRENDEDORES

WHY THIS PROGRAM?

A number of workshop-school graduates have entrepreneurial flair. If they had tools and premises, they could start. GANYDAR provides kits for cooperatives or other reliable structures that offer this opportunity.

Description

Discussions have been held for several years in Havana and Trinidad (Cuba), in Puebla (Mexico) and in Colonia del Sacramento (Urutuay) with the heads of the Schools Workshop to organize these kits, while ensuring that they are used as intended.

Structures are being prepared in Trinidad and Colonia. GANYDAR wishes to participate in the financing of these machines / tools, under the control of local officials.

Objectives

The goal of this program is to offer ten graduates a year the opportunity to become independent contractors.

Activities

Trinidad: This program will start with a pilot cooperative which will be a subsidiary of an existing cooperative. The first profession that will be targeted: masonry, dedicated to the local production of building materials (bricks, blocks and prefabricated elements). Once the funding for the machines / tools has been secured, a year will be needed to launch this cooperative.

This project will employ 15 graduates and will provide them with a monthly income of about US $ 300 (8 times more than the official Cuban income, but the minimum vital actually). Colonia del Sacramento: For the year 2019, a local Golf Tournament will fund the Kits.

Budget

The budget of this program is related to the projects. In 2019, we are planning CHF 30,000 to finance half of the machines / tools in the Trinidad program. A portion (around CHF 5,000) of the donations received in 2017 will also be used for additions to Colonia del Sacramento and if possible in Puebla (Mexico) and Brazil.

Location

                Cuba, Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico.

Duration of the program

Permanent program.
