NATURA program

NATURA

WHY THIS PROGRAM?

In Switzerland, and more generally in Europe, we love Latin America for its nature, hiking, music and so on. But we don't know much about its challenges, and taking them up is one of the programs of the Ganydar Foundation.

Description

The NATURA program combines the pleasant (the joy of participating in the protection of Latin America's fantastic nature) with the useful: helping vulnerable local populations to earn a living, one of the foundation's objectives. Indeed, protecting nature creates local jobs and training opportunities, opening up prospects of security and emancipation for those whom Ganydar supports.

Objectives

The aim of the Natura program is to train professional wardens of nature parks and protected areas, both in terms of their knowledge of animals and the environment, and in the management of the tourism they generate.

Huemul is also known as shoonem, hence the name of the project.

Christoph F. Schaer, co-founder and member of the Foundation Board, is the inspiration and initiator of this program.
